According to Allnigeriasoccer.com, Nigerian defender, Kenneth Omeruo cost Chelsea £800,000 in transfer fee, excluding wages and bonuses when bought in January 2012.
Sources aware of the deal claim that the Player never played for Standard Liege and was only training with the Belgian club, and that Omeruo’s transfer fee was paid to a Nigerian club.
A sell-on clause was also inserted that will see the Nigerian team get 10 per cent of the transfer fee if he is sold by Chelsea before the expiration of his contract.
The 22-year-old has been loaned out to European teams in the past, ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and now Alanyaspor.
My View
A really good deal by Chelsea FC, Omeruo is a good player for age.
But I don't see Chelsea FC selling him before the expiration of his contract. SORRY THE SAID NIGERIAN TEAM!!!
