Can Real Madrid equal Barcelona record?

Written by: Oladayo Juan Joe Bamidele

Real Madrid set to equal Barcelona winning streak if they beat fellow Spanish club.

Spanish giant, Real Madrid are on the verge of equaling a record held by Barcelona, for over five seasons - most consecutive wins in La Liga.

The current record is 16 games, set by Barcelona while still being managed by Pep Guardiola in the 2010/11 season.

Real Madrid are already on 15 victories, a win on Sunday will take them level with the Catalan side.

The Spanish giant will be facing Espanyol this weekend, looking for another win. Last time they tasted defeat was the 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid back in late February.

If Madrid put more winning pressure to their next game, then Espanyol shouldn't pose much problem to them.
