Juventus pair Kwadwo Asamoah and Daniele Rugani has been ruled out for seven weeks due to knee injuries, according to the club statement.

The duo picked up injuries during the 1-0 victory over Palermo on Saturday, with the champions maintaining their one-point lead.

Juve through their website confirmed that the pair will be sidelined for 45 days. Asamoah will undergo surgery to correct a meniscus rupture.

"The tests revealed that Asamoah has ruptured the meniscus cartilage, while Rugani has strained the lateral collateral ligament, both in the right knee.

"The former is expected to undergo surgery with both players anticipated to return within around 45 days."

They will miss key Serie A clashes with giants, AC Milan and Napoli. Also three Champions League group games - away at Dinamo Zagreb, as well as home and away games with Lyon.

Rugani has played twice this term, scoring in the 4-0 win over Cagliari on September 21.
