Former Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini has heaped praise on his former player Yaya Toure. He claimed the African star can play a major role in City's success this season.
Toure was left out of Man City's Champions League squad by new boss, Pep Guardiola.
Mancini rates the player in the ranks of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Yaya was always one of my goals. We had almost sealed his purchase with President Erick Thohir a year ago, and then he preferred not to betray Manchester City, where I took him.
"Toure, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of those players who can make the difference, who can change the outcome of a season by themselves like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo," he told Corriere dello Sport.
Mancini bought Toure in 2009, scoring 75 times in 266 appearances.
Well said by Roberto Mancini. Toure still remains a very good player.
