Congo-Brazzaville were beaten 2-1 at home by an impressive Egypt side in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier played on Sunday.
The game was played at Stade Municipal de Kintele in Brazzaville, Congo’s capital city, with Congo starting the match on a brigh note as they forced Essam El-Hadary into several saves few minutes into the game.
The Red Devils of Congo found the back of the net six minutes before half-hour, when Ferebory Dore headed home to give Congo the lead.
The lead however lasted only for seventeen minutes before Mohamed Salah's header made it 1-1.
Egypt then took the lead through Abdallah Saied, assisted by Salah, making it 2-1 in favour of the visitors.
WRITER'S OPINION
Spirited display by the Pharaohs of Egypt. A well organised team.
