Messi sets new La Liga goal record

Written by: Oladayo Juan Joe Bamidele

FC Barcelona got all three points in La Liga on Saturday, as they beat Deportivo La Coruna 4-0 at Camp Nou.

Rafinha scored a brace in the first half, with Luis Suarez making it 3-0. Lionel Messi then made it 4-0 before the end of the game.

With Saturday's goal, Messi has now set a all-time La Liga goal record. He is now the player who has scored the most league goals while at home.

The record was previously help by Athletic Bilbao legend, Telmo Zarra, who scored 179 times at home, Messi now holds the record with 180 goals.

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 150 home league goals. Making him the number four in the ranking.

Messi is undoubtedly a football genius. He has set records that will take some time before being broken.

He is simply amazing.
