Wydad Casablanca gets new coach following ex Liverpool player sack

Written by: Tawfeeq Hassan

Mohamed Sohail has been been confirmed as the new coach of Wydad Casablanca following John Toshack's sack.

We reported that Toshack was sacked as a result of the team’s 4-0 away loss to African giant, Zamalek in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi final.

New manager Sohail once played for the Moroccan club, winning many titles in the process.

His task will be to overturn the 4-0 deficit against the Egyptian giant, which many considered as a very difficult one.

Hassan Shehata was also linked to Wydad’s managerial post before Mohamed Sohail got the appointment.

The eventual winner between Wydad and Zamalek will face either Mamelodi Sundowns or Zesco United in the final of the prestigious African clubs competition.

Overturning such a huge defeat is the most difficult task any football manager could do.

Wishing Mohamed Sohail all the very best.
